*gets linked a case where a pro has played for literal ages and still never got global* "I am sure most quake pro's would comfortably get to global in a few weeks" Some people are better at fast or slow paces shooters naturally. They don't compare though of course they are different. I don't even like to bash on counter-strike as I prefer the game to Quake in general but I am not naive to the difference in skill. I am done, you literally know nothing about Quake. Also, if you are not aware fatal1ty was once a pro in counter-strike when he actually played computer games. Are you going to now tell me Pele at 78 years old can't play football. Rocket Jump Ninja and fatal1ty are exactly the same.īut DUDE i'm still laughing you linked a video of fatal1ty. AGENT has never gone full time to CS:GO so talking about his rank is utterly ridiculous if he is only casually plays a few hours a week. You comment is wrong on so many levels as well. I have been global since beta and means nothing. Global is not close to Pro? Erm well no shit. Strategies and opening knowledge are things for 1500 ELO and above. It's literally impossible to learn them all, which means that you actually have to be good at the game and calculating ahead because most of the time if you play against random people at lower ELO (~1400 and below, where 98% of all chess players would likely place) your strategies are worthless and you're not better than them because of it. The 98% of chess players that you want to beat probably don't know the best move to follow up on your opening, and I don't think I have to tell you how many different replies to your opening there can be. No idea if you ever learned chess openings, but you learn your moves and then the learning material explains what the enemy should do (because it's the "best" move according to the author or chess engines). There are literally books on opening theory that are all about a single mainline and a few variations of it. Have you ever played chess against someone else? The problem with "learn a few moves and strategies" is that your whole game plan flies out the window if they don't follow up on what you learned.
